Postgraduate Forum Mid-Term Conference 2025
The Society's Postgraduate Forum is delighted to announce details of its Mid-Term Conference 2025.
The Mid-Term Conference will be hosted online and in-person at the Society in London between Tuesday 22 and Thursday 24 April 2025.
What is the Mid-Term?
The Mid-Term Conference is a longstanding feature of the Postgraduate Forum's annual calendar, attracting over 100 postgraduates from across the UK and around the world every year.
The Mid-Term Conference seeks to present a snapshot of the exciting and important research being undertaken by postgraduate geographers on novel topics and in diverse contexts.
The conference affords postgraduates in geography and cognate fields the opportunity to network with peers, develop new insights, and present their research in a friendly, constructive, and informal setting.
Postgraduate researchers at any stage in their studies present their original research on any relevant geographical topic at the Mid-Term.
The 2025 Mid-Term
The 2025 Mid-Term will include an online-only conference held on Tuesday 22 April, and an in-person-only conference held across Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 April.
Online-only presentations will take place via Zoom on Tuesday 22 April. In-person-only presentations will take place at the Society across Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 April.
Online presentation slots are limited and will be allocated competitively. Postgraduates submitting an abstract for an online presentation slot will be invited to indicate whether they would like to be considered for an in-person slot in the event that they are not allocated an online slot.
The 2025 Mid-Term Conference will include:
- Research presentations by postgraduate delegates.
- Keynote lectures by guest speakers.
- Networking opportunities.
- Introductory lecture and guided tour of the Society (in-person only).
- Engaging plenary sessions and parallel workshops (in-person only).
