• Session organisers advertise Calls for Papers to their sessions
• Prospective delegates submit paper proposals to either:
  • Organised sessions, or
  • 'Open' call, (sessions convened by RGS-IBG conference planning committee).

Deadline for programme submissions

7 March 2025

All programme submissions must be received through the online portal by Friday 7 March 2025.

Please note that the Calls for Papers for 'organised' sessions will have various submission deadlines, before this main conference submission deadline.

Registration

April 2025

Registration for the conference will open in spring 2025. 

Conference organisers confirm acceptance of submissions

End of April 2025

Conference organisers will formally confirm acceptance of sessions, papers and posters for the conference. Timetabling the programme begins.

Delegates may request letters of acceptance to make funding applications, and letters of invitation for visa applications. Please see our Planning your attendance pages.

Provisional programme

Mid-May 2025

The provisional conference programme becomes available. Session organisers and presenting authors are invited to make corrections and request final changes to titles and abstracts.

Deadline for early-bird (reduced rate) registration

Friday 13 June 2025

Programme contributors (session chairs, paper and poster presenters, discussants, and panel contributors) must register by this deadline.

Final conference programme announced

Early July 2025

Final conference programme published on the conference website. Changes may be made to the online programme at any time up to and during the conference.

AC2025 takes place

The conference will take place at the University of Birmingham, and online, from Tuesday 26 to Friday 29 August 2025.
