Landscape Geography Working Group

The RGS-IBG Landscape Geography Working Group (LGWG) is accepting expressions of interest for sponsored sessions or landscape geography-related events for the RGS-IBG 2025 Annual Conference.

We're particularly interested in papers around creative methodologies to explore a range of approaches to data collection and analysis. We'd also welcome proposals for a creative workshop where we can have a more hands-on session where we share tips and tools around putting all of this into practice.

LGWG's central purpose is to create an inclusive community and space for geographers researching landscape across and beyond the discipline. The working group also aims to provide a space for a broader, more inclusive and more diverse approach to the concept of landscape.

The conference will take place at the University of Birmingham and online, from Tuesday 26 August to Friday 29 August 2025, with the theme of Geographies of Creativity/Creative Geographies.

More information on the conference theme can be found in our guidance for session organisers.

Please submit your expressions of interest by 6.00pm GMT on Friday 31 January 2025, by emailing Nicola Dempsey at n.dempsey@sheffield.ac.uk and Meredith Whitten at meredith.whitten@ucl.ac.uk
