Geography and Education Research Group

Deadline: Monday 10 February.

The Geography and Education Research Group (GeogEd) invites session proposals that align with the Chair's theme of 'Geographies of Creativity / Creative Geographies' and GeogEd's main thematic research areas:

  • Pedagogic research / reflective practice in geography education
  • The geographies of education

Process

Please let us know if you would like GeogEd to sponsor your session by completing the GeogEd RGS-IBG session sponsorship form by Monday 10 February 2025.

Proposals will be reviewed by a sub-panel of the GeogEd committee. We aim to communicate decisions around session sponsorship by 12 February 2025.

Following this, session convenors will have until 7 March 2025 to submit the full session details (with all proposed papers and presenters where relevant) to the RGS-IBG through the online programme submissions portal.

Please read our additional guidance for sessions.

Guest passes

GeogEd has a small number of guest passes which cover the registration fee for non-geographers based in the UK and for geographers or non-geographers overseas who may have difficulties in paying their registration fee. More information is available on research groups at the annual conference. We are keen to use these to support those who are contributing to GeogEd sponsored sessions.
