A former British Army officer, Tom Davis-Merry is a climber, skier, speaker, writer, and expedition leader. His expeditions have made first ascents in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and the Indian Himalayas, and he has climbed widely across the Alps and South America.

Tom is drawn to remote and little-explored corners of the Greater Ranges in search of new lines with an aesthetic and technical quality on unclimbed peaks in regions of rich cultural and geopolitical history. His interests span Eastern philosophy, positive psychology, and human performance factors, and how these concepts offer a framework for understanding our purpose and motivation behind climbing in such demanding yet inspiring places.

Tom’s academic background is in physics and experimental nuclear physics. When not tied into the sharp end, he is a systems engineer passionate about exploring how expedition leadership skills can be applied in the business and engineering sectors.
