Matthias Pav holds a master’s degree in Bioscience Engineering from the University of Ghent with a specialisation in agriculture and botany, and has published a thesis focusing on the plant Cannabis sativa L. His past few years have been dedicated to assisting and working in rescue centres, sanctuaries, and research stations around the globe. From cheetah conservation in South Africa to rock python relocation in Zimbabwe, Matthias has been involved in various wildlife conservation efforts. He has also contributed to building enclosures for orphaned primates in Ecuador and great green macaw rehabilitation in Costa Rica. Additionally, his experiences include working with Olive Ridley sea turtles in Costa Rica and participating in conservation efforts in Australia, which involved combating feral animals and conducting surveys and sea turtle population monitoring on the Great Barrier Reef.

Matthias’s passion for documenting his experiences on video has led to growing YouTube and Instagram channels where he merges scientific information with pop culture references, memes, and unconventional editing. His goal is to inspire curiosity about wildlife and promote conservation.

After nearly two years working as a project engineer and team lead in the biotech sector, Matthias decided to fully commit to wildlife conservation and filmmaking. His mission is to contribute to the protection of the natural world, conduct research, give a voice to underappreciated, misunderstood, and endangered animals, and build a community that shares his values.
