Matthew Davies is a Director at remote area medical/risk management specialists Remote Area Risk International (R2Ri). Matt set up R2Ri to support organisations operating in remote areas to do so safely.
Matthew was one of the drafting committee members for BS:8848, the British Standard for overseas expeditions and fieldwork safety, and a member of the committee representing the UK in developing the international Travel Risk Management Standard ISO:31030. He has decades of experience representing household name expedition, adventure travel and education sector clients in court as a Solicitor-Advocate, and is a contributor to and editor of the legal section in the 3rd edition of the Oxford Handbook of Expedition and Wilderness Medicine.
Matthew has decades of experience training organisations in managing risk for expeditions, fieldwork and operations on every continent and in every environment. He has undertaken expeditions from the Arctic Circle to jungles and deep desert environments.
