Craig is an accomplished and respected explorer, having led the first dedicated Scottish expedition to the South Pole in 2004, and taking a 15-year-old youth to the North Pole in 2006. Craig now has over 20 years’ experience leading expeditions to the Arctic.

In 2013 he was awarded the title of “Explorer in Residence” by the Royal Scottish Geographical Society. In 2013 Craig set up the Children’s charity The Polar Academy – each year inspiring and motivating struggling young adults. The Polar Academy offers a selected number of teenagers a truly once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of a major arctic expedition.

The expeditions are beyond anything they have ever determined to be possible and positively changes the lives of the participants and their families. In 2021 he was named one of the top 50 global influencers in the world of exploration in the inaugural “Explorers Club 50”.
