As a field producer, Alex cut her teeth in the industry filming extreme overland expeditions, such as taking a Nissan Micra from the UK to Mongolia, traversing the Indian Himalayas by rickshaw and crossing the Atlas mountains on a 50cc motorbike. More recently she has worked in broadcast, filming and producing science programmes, including Emmy-nominated The Battle To Beat Malaria, an international biomedical documentary which followed the development of a new vaccine to fight one of humanity’s oldest diseases.
A ‘type 2 fun’ convert from a young age, Alex is deeply interested in the role of adventure in building resilience, instilling confidence and improving mental well-being. This year she led as Senior Knowledge Leader on a youth expedition in the Outer Hebrides with the British Exploring Society. She also owns a trusty red Honda CB500X which has seen her many adventures.
