Josh currently holds positions as an associate lecturer in ecology and biodiversity conservation at UCL, where he heads the Korean Carnivore Project, and a visiting researcher at the Tiger and Leopard Conservation Fund in Korea (KTLCF), in South Korea. He has recently been leading work on the biodiversity of North Korea and the threats it faces.

Josh holds a PhD in Zoology from the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) and UCL, and a Master's from the University of Pennsylvania. He was previously a Churchill Fellow on innovative practice in island conservation in the South Pacific and South Atlantic, and a policy advisor for the UK's Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). He is one of the faces of WWF International's #WWFVoices campaign on global biodiversity.
