Skelsmergh, a little known 'no man’s land' on the edge of the Lake District. Yet the area hosts a wealth of glacial landscape features including one of the best drumlin fields in the UK and is underlain by rare geological formations.

It supports a rich cultural heritage with bobbin mills, traditional farms, fragments of ancient woodland and the celebrated River Sprint, one of the fastest and cleanest rivers in England. It is now also home to a nascent eco-community, changing its relationship with the land.
