Commemorating the 170th anniversary of the establishment of UK-Thailand diplomatic relationship with the signing of the Bowring Treaty by King Mongkut RAMA IV the Embassy of Thailand, in concert with the Society, is pleased to present an exhibition of large format photographic prints taken by John Thomson FRGS.

Thomson was a 19th-century master photographer, traveller, writer, and was RGS Instructor of Photography. His work from this period includes many magnificent portraits, landscapes and scenes of festivals in Thailand.
