Rewilding has captured the public imagination. As a movement that promises not only to restore nature but to reintroduce wildness to Britain, rewilding has become the latest buzzword in conservation circles. But what are the implications for how we conceive wildness, and does rewilding really challenge our traditionally managerial approach to nature?

Alex Petter, RGS award-winning geographer with degrees from Cambridge University, now working as an ecologist.
