The Friends of the Scott Polar Research Institute invite you to join them for a special commemoration evening paying tribute to the polar pioneer and scientist Professor David Vaughan OBE, FRGS who passed away in 2023.
The evening will celebrate his lifetime achievements in the extremes of the Polar World as told by renowned explorer and broadcaster Paul Rose and friends of the late David Vaughan.
This is the story of a Cambridge University undergraduate who became Director of Science at the British Antarctic Survey. David spent his entire career committed to providing scientific information from extensive polar research in order to obtain scientific consensus from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Tragically David lost his life in 2023 after a battle with cancer.
Proceeds from the event will raise much needed funds for the vital work of the Scott Polar Research Institute.
