To mark the publication of the Latin American Geographies (2025, Routledge), a new English language textbook on Latin American geography, this half day hybrid panel and workshop will explore the book’s diverse themes and contributions and use this as a platform to think more broadly about how we teach on Latin America and other contexts beyond the Anglophone core.
We will discuss resources and approaches that can help us effectively translate distinct contexts and theories into classrooms in the UK. We welcome participation from all scholars including early career researchers who may work as Teaching Assistants and are interested in developing a career in teaching.
The first half of the afternoon will consist of a panel discussion led by authors from the book, and the second half will open up to a collective discussion on how we navigate the teaching landscape in the UK.
