Paul spent many years in conversation with Jan Morris over a period of thirty years. He edited a collection of tributes to her on the 80th birthday. In this talk he will describe the conversations he had with her about her time on Everest reporting as The Times newspaper correspondent.

About the speaker

Paul Clements is a journalist, writer and broadcaster he is the author of five travel books, and biographies of Richard Hayward and Jan Morris. He edited a collection of tributes to her on her 80th birthday and spent four months at Oxford University where he wrote the first critical study of he work.

Paul is a former BBC assistant editor, he is a recipient of the Reuter Journalist's Fellowship Programme, a Fellow of Green Templeton College, Oxford, a member of the Royal Society of Literature and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society as well as a member of its Northern Ireland Regional Committee.
