This CPD event is for teachers with little or no previous GIS experience and includes:
- An overview of GIS pedagogy.
- Using ArcGIS as a geography visualiser.
- Adding data and making your own maps in 2D and 3D.
- StoryMaps for classroom use.
There will be an extended lunchtime, with some optional self-study activities provided. Tea and coffee will be provided on arrival. Lunch will not be provided – there will be opportunities to go out at lunchtime or you can bring your own lunch.
We may finish a little earlier than the published finish time and we do understand if you have to leave before 4.00pm. The final 30-45 minutes will, therefore, be an opportunity to ask questions and explore ideas further, rather than covering new content.
We will be working in a computer lab, so you don’t need to bring a laptop unless you would like to use your own machine. You will be sent precise joining instructions at least three days before the event.
