About

I am a Peruvian scientist, National Geographic Explorer, and founder of Amazon Research Internacional. Current or most recent role

As Founder and Executive Director of Amazon Research Internacional, I lead conservation initiatives that integrate modern science with indigenous knowledge to protect Amazonian biodiversity. My work advances stingless bee conservation, policy advocacy, and community empowerment, fostering sustainable livelihoods while securing legal recognition for endangered species and ecosystems.

Previous experience

I have extensive experience in professional outreach, particularly in engaging underrepresented communities in conservation and science. Through my organisation, I lead initiatives that empower indigenous groups in the Amazon, particularly women and youth, through capacity-building in stingless beekeeping, biodiversity conservation, and policy advocacy.

Why I want to become a professional ambassador

As an indigenous-descent scientist and National Geographic Explorer, I am passionate about bridging traditional knowledge with modern science to protect biodiversity. As a Professional Ambassador, I would advocate for conservation, amplify local voices, and inspire global action for the planet's ecosystems and communities through research, policy, and education.
