The Society has recently approved the accreditation and reaccreditation of 11 undergraduate geography programmes and four master’s programmes at four higher education institutions across the UK.
Programme accreditation is a great way for university departments to demonstrate their good practice in teaching and learning. During the accreditation process, a review panel assesses programmes against the 2022 QAA Subject Benchmark Statement for Geography. The statement defines what can be expected of a graduate in terms of the knowledge, understanding, skills and approaches they have gained through their degree programme.
