Are you planning a wedding in 2025? Why not hire the Society’s iconic building for your special day and support our vital work to advance geography at the same time?
The Society’s building, both modern and characterful, is used throughout the year for events including our Monday night lecture series, flagship conferences, and educational tours. A combination of classic red brick with modern twist, it is also an ideal intimate setting for a wedding with up to 80 guests.
Wedding packages at the Society include exclusive hire of all the venue’s spaces, with a wedding breakfast in our spacious Education Centre, a seated ceremony in our stunning grand Main Hall, and a celebratory drinks reception in our Map Room, all opening out onto a beautiful outdoor terrace.
Our experienced venue hire team, including dedicated event managers and skilled AV technicians using state-of-the-art equipment, are here to help you plan your wedding with confidence. The Society’s trusted partner, Lodge Catering, is also on hand to provide an exceptional catering service and will work with you to ensure a wedding menu to remember.

Voices from the Global South: Open access learning resources launched as part of new collaborative initiative
The Society has partnered with The Open University and the International Geographical Union on a new initiative, Voices from the Global South, which seeks to amplify voices often overlooked in global discussions, foster understanding and inspire action to combat climate change.
