Our summer programme of events offers a wide range of talks, discussions and exhibitions at venues across the UK, with many also livestreamed.

Another exciting line-up of speakers is planned for our Monday night lectures series for members. Broadcaster and comedian Sandi Toksvig will introduce Mappa Mundi, a project documenting the position, achievements and struggles of women across the globe. Enric Sala will take to the stage in May to discuss the last few untouched places in the ocean, bringing stories from National Geographic Pristine Seas expeditions. With evenings becoming lighter again, why not take the opportunity to catch up with a friend on our Terrace, and enjoy a drink from the Map Room bar before the lecture?

In June, all are invited to join the curators of the British Pavilion for the 2025 Venice Biennale, an international art exhibition hosted annually in Venice, as they explore the role of architecture in shaping more just and resilient futures.

Immerse yourself in our Collections with our Be inspired series of afternoon talks, including a lecture from Deborah Ireland on John Thomson’s photography and travels in Siam, a talk which accompanies an exhibition of Thomson’s prints in the Pavilion.

Our variety of regional events this summer include a screening of The Pine Hunters, the latest film from documentary filmmaker Ted Simpson, that will be shown in venues across the UK as part of our Regional Theatres Programme. In Brighton, the South Committee are hosting a guided walking tour introducing the key historical and present-day LGBTQ spaces of the city and in Norwich, environmentalist Sir Jonathon Porritt is delivering a lecture on the twin crises of the climate and biodiversity emergencies.
